Quick answer
Baseball bingo is played while watching a game, in the stands or on TV. Each player's card has plays and ballpark moments like Strikeout, Double Play, Home Run, Pitching Change and Seventh-Inning Stretch. Players mark squares as they happen, and the first to complete a row, column or diagonal wins. It's a great way to teach kids the game and keep them engaged for nine innings.

Nine innings is a long time for a seven-year-old. Baseball bingo gives young fans a reason to watch every pitch, and it quietly teaches them the difference between a fly out and a sacrifice fly. Adults like it too, especially in a slow game. It works in the bleachers at a Little League field, at a minor-league park or on the couch during the World Series.
How do you play baseball bingo?
The game is the caller. Players mark squares as plays and moments happen.
- Print a card for each player using the generator at the top of this page.
- Bring a pencil or crayon and a clipboard. Bleachers aren’t great writing surfaces.
- Watch the game and mark squares as they happen: a foul ball, a stolen base, a mound visit.
- The first player to complete a row, column or diagonal wins. The center square is free.
- Keep going for four corners or a full card to last the whole game.
How many baseball bingo cards should I print?
One per player per game, plus a spare. If you’re heading to a doubleheader or a weekend series, print one per game. Every card from the generator is different, so the family won’t all win on the same home run.
House rules to settle in the first inning
- Either team counts. A home run by the visiting team still counts, even if it hurts.
- Fan Catches Ball includes foul balls caught in the stands.
- Walk-Off only happens in the bottom of the ninth or extra innings, when the home team wins on the final play.
- The scorekeeper decides. If you’re keeping a scorecard, the scorekeeper settles disputes.
Teach the game with bingo
Use squares as conversation starters. When someone marks “Sacrifice Fly,” explain why the batter is out but the team is happy. When “Pitch Clock” comes up, talk about how MLB added the pitch timer in 2023 to speed up games.
Variations
- Ballpark edition. At a stadium, add sights you can only see in person, like your team’s mascot race or a local food, using the custom bingo card generator.
- Little League bingo. For youth games, swap MLB squares for things like “Snack Bar,” “Coach Pitch” and “Team Cheer.”
- Inning cards. Hand out a new card every three innings with a small prize per round.
- Postseason bingo. In October, add “Dogpile” and “Trophy” for the clinching game.
Prize ideas
A pack of sunflower seeds or Cracker Jack, a team cap, a foam finger, a baseball card pack, a new glove grip, or the honor of choosing the next snack from the concession stand. More in our bingo prize ideas guide.

Frequently asked questions
Can kids play baseball bingo at a game?
Yes. It's a great way to teach the rules. Kids learn what a sacrifice fly or pickoff is because they're watching for it.
How long does a game of baseball bingo last?
A single-line game usually ends somewhere in the middle innings. Play for a full card to keep going through the ninth.
Do I need to know baseball to play?
No. Ballpark squares like Hot Dog, Mascot, Kiss Cam and the Wave give new fans plenty to mark, and you'll pick up the plays as you go.
